Tim Robbins Honored by UCLA

Actor Tim Robbins has been given some good news after weeks of being attacked for waving peace signs at the Oscars - he's to be honored by UCLA.

Robbins and partner Susan Sarandon were blasted by right-wingers for their anti-war stance at the Academy Awards last month - leading to an honor at the Baseball Hall of Fame to be scrapped earlier this month.

But now UCLA scholars have stepped up to recognize former student Robbins and bestow the Alumnus of the Year Award on him.

UCLA theatre professor Gary Gardner says, "Tim reflects who we are and what we try to teach in an undergraduate theater education at UCLA."

News of Robbins' honor comes days after it was announced Sarandon will be honored by the Film Society at the Lincoln Center in New York, on May 5.

I recall the Theatre Arts majors when I was in college.

I'm sure that Tim Robbins pretty much reflects what EVERY undergraduate theatre education department tries to teach.

Tell the chancellor of UCLA how you feel about it. My taxdollars aren't happy.

I'd like to see an initiative here in CA to have these Marxist hatcheries become private schools.

Well, Tim was just the best of the best. But he has never been called upon to defend his thesis, and he has no idea of how it is done. Therefore, when his political position comes under attack, he is confounded, and knows no way in which he could answer the arguments against his stance. His only response is to launch into sharp invective and never respond to the objections raised.

I quit supporting the UCLA Alumni Association in the 70s when they proudly announced that Angela Davis (weapons supplier for the Black Panthers, communist party vp candidate and currently Professor Emeritus at UCSC) was going to be the guest speaker at an annual event.

However, Tim does not speak for all of those Californians who are taxed to support UCLA. Time for legslative oversight of leftist university propaganda machines.

It's not going to matter how many awards these two get, the majority of the American public has had enough them.

Typical. Decent Americans who love their country and support the president are again portrayed as KKK sheet wearing racists.
